This online column, originally conceptualized by Peter Gilstrap, has endured as one of New Times' most popular web extra sections. I took over as "Jesus Keeper" in April 2000. Since that blessed day, I have designed and developed 5 annual redesigns of the site's look and written up more than 150 Jesus submissions.

As Jesus Keeper, I get e-mail and postal mail submissions of Jesus images -- and hate mail, it should be noted -- from which I derive my weekly commentary. I am also responsible for the design and functionality of the site.

The site is an on-going contest to find "the defining image of the Main Manger Man." And, in case you didn't notice, it's a humor site.
